ABOUT ALLISON SYMES
Allison writes fairy tales with bite - short stories (especially flash fiction) and novels. She is published online and in print by Alfie Dog Fiction, Bridge House Publishing, CafeLit and Chapeltown Books amongst others.
She blogs regularly on Chandlers Ford Today. Here she reviews favourite books, has written appreciations of Jane Austen and Terry Pratchett and conducts interviews with other writers. She has also written articles discussing, amongst other things, what makes a classic book and what exactly is flash fiction.
She also blogs regularly on her own websites. The Fairytales With Bite website looks at the world of her stories. Allison Symes – This World and Others – gives writing advice. She is a regular visitor to the Winchester Writers’ Festival and the Swanwick Writers’ Summer School. She has run workshops, including one specifically on flash fiction, for the Southampton Writers’ Circle.
She is a member of the P.G. Wodehouse Society (UK), the Association of Christian Writers and the Society of Authors.
She loves reading and writing and cannot imagine a world without books. She is working on a follow up book to From Light to Dark and Back Again and is loving her writer’s journey. She started writing novels, then switched to short stories and flash fiction. She has become addicted to writing 100 words stories.
