ABOUT ALLISON SYMES
Allison writes fairy tales with bite especially as flash fiction and short stories. She has two flash fiction collections published by Chapeltown Books.
These are From Light to Dark and Back Again (http://mybook.to/FromLightDarkBackAgai) and Tripping The Flash Fantastic (http://mybook.to/TrippingFlashFantastic). She is also published online and in print by Bridge House Publishing and CafeLit amongst others.
She is thrilled to be one of the winners of the Waterloo Arts Festival writing competition three years in a row and has work in their books To Be…To Become, Transforming Being, and Transforming Communities. Her stories often appear on Cafelit and she is delighted to be in some of the annual anthologies, the most recent being The Best of Cafelit 9.

Allison is a regular visitor to the Winchester Writers’ Festival and the Swanwick Writers’ Summer School. She has run workshops, including one specifically on flash fiction, for the Southampton Writers’ Circle.She is a member of the P.G. Wodehouse Society (UK), the Association of Christian Writers, the Society of Authors, and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
She loves reading and writing and cannot imagine a world without books.
